Colour Consulting
Painting your home is a major investment, and a major decision. It is important to us that you make the colour choice that is right for you and will also add the most value to the appearance of your home. Choosing a colour you will love isn’t always easy, but we will do our best to share our knowledge and experience with you as we work together to make the right choice.
We encourage
you to drive through your own neighbourhood or one that has houses similar in style to yours. This can usually provide an idea of what may or may not look good on your home. Here are some things we keep in mind when assisting our clients with paint colour selection:
- Different architectural styles demand different colours.
- Dark colours can make a big house seem smaller, and have the tendency to fade more easily.
- Light colours tend to make a house look larger, but are easily washed out.
- The style and colour of your roof is important, as is the type of windows you may have. We also consider the type of landscaping surrounding your home.
- It is not possible to select an exterior colour from a paint chip alone. We will test colours by painting swatches on your home.
Our process
Scheduling the Estimate
- We will work to arrange the estimate around your schedule. Our professional staff will work with you to determine the best time for us to come out and give you a free estimate on your project.
The Estimate
- Tibor will assess your needs, describe the process, and answer any questions you may have. You will be left with a contract that includes all the specifics of the house painting project.
Colour Consulting
- Whether you know what colour you want, or you need some help choosing the right colour, we will always do a test patch (or several) until your needs are met. We want you to be happy with the choice, so we will not start any project until you have signed off on the colour.
Washing
- Our crew will be scheduled to thoroughly hand and power-wash your home to ensure the surface is ready for paint.
Painting
- Our experienced painting crew will prepare your home for painting. This may include scraping, caulking, and other minor maintenance. We will protect all surfaces where paint could drip, and collect all paint chips left from scraping. Once ready for paint, we will begin painting of your house, using the brush, roll and spry technique.
Clean-Up
- We keep the work site organized and clean on a daily basis. All trash from the project is collected and disposed of upon completion. You will have the opportunity to inspect all work and job site cleanliness, before our crew leaves.
Warranty
- We provide a seven year warranty on our work.
Portfolio
We have completed many exterior and interior repaint projects throughout Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. Take a look at our professional painting work by neighborhood here in our portfolio. We may have painted a house near you! We'd be happy to provide you additional information on jobs in your area at the time of your estimate.
Our Work
Lead safe and eco friendly contractor
We follow all OSHC, rules and regulations regarding lead paint. We will test all homes built prior to 1978 for lead paint. We will adhere to the following procedures on any home that tests positive for lead.
- Any paint chips that come off in the process of washing will be removed from the area.
- When scraping paint, the exterior base of the home will be surrounded with 6 mil poly tarp extending 10-20 feet out where possible.
- This will collect any paint chips or dust falling from the house. The poly will be disposed of upon completion of the work.
- Wet scraping is the acceptable method of preparing the house. This is the process of spot wetting the area and scraping at the same time, ensuring that dust particles fall to the tarp below and are not air-borne.
- Lead paint chips and dust will be disposed of in 6 mil poly trash bags, reducing the risk of punctures.
- Signs will be posted to alert people to the lead based paint, and caution tape will prevent unnecessary visitors from entering the worksite.
- The health of workers will be ensured by testing for lead levels in the blood before each painting season, and then later at the end of the painting season.
- We will provide workers with OSHC approved face respirators with HEPA filters. These will be professionally tested to ensure a secure fit.
- Workers will wear disposable body suits while scraping the house.
